At Belding on Saturday, first year phenom Eddie Hines placed second at Districts in the 285lb weight class. Eddie overcame a 8-2 deficit in the semifinals to come back and pin his opponent. He lost 10-3 in the finals but still had a tremendous day. Sophomore Chase Schroder posted 4 wins, and finished better than his original 4th place seed, knocking off a former state qualifier in the consolation finals 9-1 to place 3rd at 112lbs. At 171lbs, junior Finn Perdue battled back through the consolation bracket to earn a 4th place finish. In all, the team wrestled very hard and we had quite a few heartbreaking matches.
These three wrestlers will compete next Saturday in Fremont at 9:30AM. The top four placers will advance to the state finals at Ford field March 1-3.
