The JV Golf Team participated in the Hastings Invitational on Friday, April 26th.  CC fielded two teams with Luke Preston (Fr), Carl Shadowens (Fr), Johnny Harmon (Fr), Alex Ables (Fr), Kimble Sulliver (So), and Michael Talaga (So) comprising the CC Blue Team.  CC White included Paul MacAllister (Fr), Andrew Wermuth (Fr), Michael McGivney (Fr), Nick Pilczuk (So), Owen Leese (Fr), and Jack Stapleton (So).

Extremely windy conditions greeted all of the players at The Legacy Golf Course in Hastings.  Other schools in attendance included Battle Creek Lakeview, Marshall, Greenville (2 teams), Portage Northern, Hastings and Grand Rapids Christian.

Teams golfed in a mixed format:  4 golfers played a regular 18 hole event while 2 others on the team played in a 2-man scramble.  The CC Blue team finished with a 354 to beat Grand Rapids Christian by 7 strokes.  Luke Preston finished with the event's low score of 82.  Johnny Harmon followed closely with an 87 and Carl Shadowens carded an 88.  The scramble group of Kimble Sullivan and Michael Talaga finished with a 97 and Alex Ables ended with a 107.

CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Sam Schwierking for taking 3^rd place at the GR Christian Invitational!  Sam lead the CC Varsity Golf Team with a 78 (Par 72) at Quail Ridge Golf Club on Saturday, April 13th.

The CC Boys and Girls Golf Teams taking time to participate in the Red Glasses Movement during our 7^th Annual Cougar Toss Fore Golf fundraiser.

Johnny Harmon (Fr) and Carl Shadowens (Fr) finished 1-2 in the 18 hole Thornapple Kellogg JV Golf Invitational played today at Yankee Springs Golf Course in Wayland.

Johnny finished first in a field of 76 golfers with an 84, while Carl came in tied for 2nd with an 86.  As has been the case for much of this year, it was a windy cool day on the course, but these young men played very well throughout the round.

The JV Boys Golf Team put together the best OK Blue team score of the year with a 174 at North Kent Golf Course.

Scores included Freshman Luke Preston with a 42, Freshman Carl Shadowens also with a 42, Freshman John Harmon with a 43, Freshman Alex Ables with a 47, Freshman Andrew Wermuth carding a 52 and Paul MacAllister coming in with a 58.

2019 Boys Golf (Varsity and JV) Parent Meeting

When:  Thursday, March 7th @ 7:00 p.m.

Where:  St. Adalbert's Gymnasium ("The Den") 654 Davis Ave NW, Grand Rapids [please use the Fifth Street entrance]

During this meeting we will review program and player expectations, rules to follow during matches, practice expectations and expected structure for the teams this spring.  We will also answer any questions you may have.

Our 7^th Annual 2019 Cougar Toss Fore Golf fundraiser was a huge success!
